School Counselors We want you to know that our counseling team is here to help you. We provide a safe place for our students to share their immigration status and we will keep it confidential. By sharing that you are undocumented we are able to guide and help you with finding the right resources and financial aid for college!

The purpose of the English Learner (EL) Program at MHHS is to provide challenging course work, while simultaneously developing language acquisition skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing academic English.
We provide support and services to students while they work to become proficient in English as their second language, to enable them to graduate high school and become successful in their post-secondary education and career. Tina Hernandez (English Learner Program Coordinator) [email protected] |
AVID
The goal of the AVID program is to provide academic
instruction and other support to students in order to
prepare them for eligibility for four-year colleges
and universities.
AVID is a program for "middle to upper middle"
academic students who are "at promise" and have
the potential for AP and honors work in high school,
but would in addition, need academic and emotional
support and paired with the rigor.
